Latency test with EyeLink TCP/IP
February 26, 2021 04:45PM
Hi all,

I recently discovered that my latency test fails (several skipped frames) whenever I have SR Research EyeLink connecting to MonkeyLogic through the TCP/IP port. When I connect over the analog signals, my latency test works perfectly.

Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a work-around? I prefer to use the TCP/IP for eye-tracking since the signal is significantly less noisy.

Thanks!

Get a faster computer. TCP/IP input is sampled by software and therefore requires additional CPU power, while voltage input is sampled by the NI board independently of CPU.

If you are not using stimuli that change every frame (e.g., movies), some skipped frames may not be critical.
