Questions about webcam: frame rate and record timing
February 01, 2023 04:09PM
Hello,

I have started using a webcam and have two questions.

Is there a frame rate limit?
MonkeyLogic works perfectly at a frame rate of 120Hz. However, I am greedy and would like to use a camera with a higher frame rate (say, 700 Hz). So I would like to know if MonkeyLogic will work fine with very high frame rate cameras.

If I manage to get a high-speed camera, the data size will be the source of the problem.
Is it possible to change the frame rate between scenes or record webcam data in specific scenes?

Thank you

It is the webcam, not NIMH ML, that sets the limit. I have not seen a webcam that supports 700 Hz, though.

I do not think the frame rate can be changed in the middle. Recording only specific scenes may be possible, but at the moment it is not programmed to do so.

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a component of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
