Dear admin,

I hope you're doing well. I'm currently working on setting up our behavioral task in MonkeyLogic and would like to request your help with configuring the digital output system to synchronize it with our neural recording setup.

We are using a National Instruments PCIe-6323 DAQ card with two breakout boxes: the BNC-2090A for handling MonkeyLogic inputs and outputs, and the BNC-2110 for feeding signals into our SpikeGLX acquisition system, which is connected to the Neuropixels probes through the PXI chassis. The PCIe-6323 is recognized as Dev1 in NI MAX, and both accessories are properly configured across Connector 0 and Connector 1.

Our goal is to send behavioral event markers from MonkeyLogic to SpikeGLX using TTL pulses. At the moment, we plan to assign behavioral codes to digital lines on port0 (e.g., lines 0–6) and use a separate digital line, possibly port0/line7 or port1/line0, as a strobe bit to mark when a code is sent. In SpikeGLX, we have configured digital input recording from XD lines 0:7 and verified that TTL pulses sent from MonkeyLogic on port0/line0 are successfully received.

I would appreciate your guidance on whether we are setting up the behavioral codes and strobe bit correctly, and more importantly, how we should best configure MonkeyLogic to synchronize with our recording system. Specifically, I want to ensure that the event codes are properly registered in both systems and that the timing between the two is aligned as precisely as possible.

The timing accuracy of the eventcodes is usually not dependent on how you set it up.
