Computer Tablet Specs for running single-screen in-cage training sesions

Posted by apersello34
I'm planning on running MonkeyLogic on a Windows tablet computer (like a Microsoft Surface) for in-cage training of our Macaques. The tasks would likely be something like a rotating Gabor Patch with a monkey-controlled joystick, along with a BT-controlled reward system. I'm wondering what the required specs would be for this?

To clarify, I'd like to run everything on just the tablet; 1 screen, no other computer. It would have Windows 11 and the most up-to-date Matlab.

I'm considering a Microsoft Surface Go 3, which has the following specs:
-CPU: Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y dual core or Intel 10th Gen i3 10100Y dual core
-RAM: 8GB LPDDR3
-128GB SSD
-Intel UHD Graphics 615

Would that be powerful enough?

I think you need to consider the screen strength of MS surface. In some case monkey would hit the screen heavily when in-cage training and break the screen. Now we are using a DELL rugged tablet, it works good but I need to check for the specs later.
